Written for three dramatic sisters who begged their mother, a seamstress, to sew them three big pink dresses for the performance (they settled for already-sewn costumes)...this piece invites laughs from audience, performers, and teacher alike. It was a hoot at our year-end recital in 2017!
Running out of keys, swapping places, "wrong" notes, exasperated sighs...can three people even fit on one piano? While repetition keeps this piece simple enough to learn and assemble, diversion from what's expected - combined with some acting skill - creates its hilarity.
Level: Early Intermediate, quite evenly-leveled throughout the parts

The real deal, with some extras! Have you ever clapped, snapped, and stomped your feet in a piano duet? Have you done it as a piano-playing secret agent?
Watch your pre-teen students' motivation rekindle as they play such an accurate theme from a movie they enjoy!
This duet sounds impressively similar to the recording, with the same rhythms and with melodies in the same octave. It is shortened some to make it a prime choice for studio recitals (2 minutes), sure to be well received!
Though a quite evenly-leveled duet, the secondo part is rhythmically more complex. However, the ostinato can easily be mastered by listening to/playing along with the music from the films as the piece is conveniently in the same key. (And how fun would it be to play along with the original?)
Percussive parts (claps, knee slaps, etc.) are well notated, add interest throughout, and aid the syncopation of the ending themes. Percussive instruments could be substituted if desired (ex. sandblocks or a cabasa instead of rubbing hands together).

With interactive questions for each piece, "Imagine" invites creativity and musicality. Students may be asked to write in their own dynamics, compare articulations, create a narration, or even paint on the page!
The six pieces are suitable as rote pieces for 1st or 2nd year students, or as reading pieces for those who've studied longer.

Rote Pieces
"Home" is the piece that is already inside of you. The key signature, the chord progressions, the rhythms, the simplicity...they will transport you. When asking others for input about a title, a student's mother replied "It felt like a song to reminisce on childhood or coming home." The title encapsulates both of those meanings...and whatever home means to you.
This would be an impressive recital piece for a young student, a musical choice for the intrinsically expressive student, or a welcomed "unwind and decompress" piece for teens. It could even be a stripped-down offertory or expression of worship.
While accessible to students early in their piano studies, if taught by rote, I would consider adding words to fill in the sustained notes to help with the rhythm.

Did your student break their arm? Do they need practice with their triad fingering anyways? This piece was written spontaneously when I found out my student fractured his arm. Rather than being frustrated his inability to play his pieces as usual, he enjoyed sight-reading the sonorous chordal accompaniment for a thoughtful, winding melody.
Performing with one hand may be a necessity, or a fun choice to impress recital audiences!
